MS :Modified Silane(Silyl) Polymer


A. Health and Environmental Protection

The traditional sealant (silicone gel) contains solvents, which can release formaldehyde, VOC (volatile organic compounds) and other harmful to people's physical and mental health. MS sealant does not contain formaldehyde and isocyanate, solvent-free, non-toxic, odorless, VOC release is far below the national standards, is the most environmentally friendly building rubber products.

B. Non-pollution

The traditional silicone sealant will precipitate silicone oil and make it adhere to pollutants. Especially when using porous materials such as stone and concrete, it will cause pollution that is difficult to remove. It is one of the main sources of building facade pollution, which greatly reduces the aesthetic and image value of buildings. MS sealant overcomes such defects in mechanism and will not produce the same pollution.

C. Adhesiveness

Among silicone glue, polyurethane glue and MS sealant, the bonding strength of silicone glue is relatively weak and polyurethane glue is strong, but it needs to be used with primer. MS sealant has excellent bonding performance and can adapt to most building substrates without primer bonding.

D. Weatherability

The molecular structure of MS gum determines its good weatherability. It can maintain good elasticity after long-term exposure to the outdoor environment. The gel itself will not produce bubbles, cracks, and bond strength will last for a long time. It has good thixotropy and extrusion, and can adapt to outdoor, indoor, humid, low temperature and other working environments.

E. Finishing

The traditional silicone sealant can not be painted with paint. It is often necessary to color the colloid to keep the same color with the exterior wall coating. Its production process is time-consuming and time-consuming. It is difficult to ensure the same color only, and the cost is difficult to control. MS sealant can be applied directly on the surface of colloid. Not most of the coatings are compatible. It avoids the trouble and perfectly realizes the unification of outer wall color, so as to maintain the beauty of the main building.

F. Stress relief

The construction base material will shrink with the time pushing, which will lead to the tendency of joint expansion. The common sealant bonding surface will bear a greater mechanical effect, such as sealant rupture and bonding surface damage. MS sealant has both stress and elasticity. Even if it is in tension for a long time, under the action of stress relaxation, it can eliminate the influence of shrinkage of building base material to the maximum extent.


Architectural field: leak-proof and leak-proof roof of buildings, sealing of air conditioning system, repairing cracks in buildings, installation of skylights and floor laying, composite decorative panels, joint sealing of kitchens, toilets and other ancillary facilities, sealing of doors and windows of houses and concrete structures.

B. Industry: Sealing of doors and windows, windshield, roof floor and side frame, sealing of ships, containers, food refrigeration vehicles, etc., and sealing of elevator car with reinforcing ribs.

2 STPE: Silane Terminated Poly-Ether

"Hybrid" STP-E sealant, also known as silicone modified polyether sealant and modified silicone sealant, is a high performance elastic sealant based on silicone-terminated polyether.

Hybrid STP-E sealant inherits the advantages of silicone sealant and polyurethane sealant, and exhibits excellent weatherability and durability, high resistance to deformation and displacement, good adhesion, finishing, environmental friendliness, construction and low stickiness.

Based on the above excellent properties, hybrid STP-E sealant can be used in construction, automobile manufacturing and container manufacturing.

3SMP: Silane Modified Polymer

Dow's Silane Modified Polymer, VORASIL, is an effective breakthrough in the solution of adhesives and sealants. It is the unique combination of polyurethane and silane end groups. It has the characteristics of low viscosity and rapid curing at room temperature. This product is conducive to adhesives and sealant manufacturers to obtain high performance materials, and at the same time has silane properties without any cost of silane. Compared with other traditional products, VORASIL SMP has many advantages in operation and persistence, which are embodied in:

Excellent viscosity and curing time; wide range of applications to meet the special needs of customers; cost-effective; hydrophobicity, UV resistance, high temperature resistance, oil and hydrocarbon resistance and climate resistance in one.

All three refer to resins with "silane-terminated polyethers"; since they are the same, why are there three names?

MS Polymer registered trademark, the latter is called SMP, which respects intellectual property rights. STPE has two meanings: one is the abbreviation of "polyether sealed with silane" in English, the other is a "wake" resin, which was tried out in China in 2014, and at the same time, it respects the intellectual property rights of MS Polymer!

4STPU: Silane TerminatedPU

The so-called STPU refers to modified Silane-terminated resin/sealant, which is a polymer resin with polyurethane chain as molecular skeleton and siloxane as terminal group formed after the two ends of polyurethane chain are joined with siloxane groups. STPU sealant is a one-component, high performance, neutral curing adhesive. The product is environmentally friendly and does not contain toxic and harmful substances. It has good bonding ability to most substrates such as metal, ceramics, wood, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polycarbonate (PC) and so on. After curing, the surface can be painted. It is widely used in flexible seals of various vehicles, ships, mechanical equipment, elevator car, container, electrical equipment, industrial equipment manufacturing and maintenance.

Relative to polyurethane: non-toxic NCO; excellent weatherability; curing without bubbles; good adhesion with a variety of organic/inorganic substrates; no need for primer bonding.

Compared with silicone: paintable; no silicone pollution; no volatile silicone; good adhesion with a variety of organic/inorganic substrates; better mechanical properties.

Industrial applications:

(1) Structural bonding of components of buses, trains, trucks and industrial vehicles;

(2) Adhesive sealing of elevator car and container;

(3) Bonding seals for the skylights of passenger cars, trucks and ships;

(4) The top, front, rear and side walls of buses, trucks and trains are bonded and sealed.

(5) Sealing of weld seam and other parts;

(6) Structural bonding between metal and polymer materials on the floor of passenger cars, trains and other vehicles.

Architecture and Home Decoration:

(1) Architectural decoration: sandstone slabs, glass/FRP and metal bond seals indoor and outdoor; floor tiles and window marble around bond seals.

(2) Household industry: the bonding and sealing around the components of bathroom, household appliances, fish tank, elevator, solar water heater water tank, water pipe and so on.

(3) Furniture kitchenware: high-grade furniture kitchenware used splints, splints, resurfacing boards and other bonding seals.

Civil engineering:

(1) Sealing of waterproofing materials for underwater and offshore engineering, sealing of ship side, deck filling, hull decoration, etc.

5SPU: Silane (modified) PU

"Silicified" polyurethane, one-component moisture-curable polyurethane (PU) sealant is widely used in civil construction, transportation and other fields. It has the advantages of high strength, good elasticity, tear resistance, wear resistance, puncture resistance, non-pollution to substrates, acid and alkali resistance, organic solvents resistance, paintability and so on. However, due to its sensitivity to humidity, single-component PU sealant can easily lead to storage. Unstable, long-term anti-ultraviolet aging ability is weak; and the curing process releases carbon dioxide, easy to form adhesion damage, resulting in the metal, glass and other smooth surface of the substrate bonding is not strong, so it is necessary to use primer to improve its bonding and anti-UV aging performance.

SPU refers to silylated polyurethane. SPU is a material modified by silane sealing with polyurethane as its main chain. This kind of sealant not only retains the advantages of the original PU sealant, but also has great improvement in heat resistance, aging resistance and climate resistance. It has good bonding effect on metal, glass, PVC and other commonly used substrates, and it does not contain free isocyanate and has no pollution of curing exudation. The material escapes without polluting the surface and periphery of the bonded substrate, which is more in line with the requirements of environmental protection.

At present, the research on SPU sealant is very active at home and abroad. There are already high-strength SPU sealants used in glass bonding of cars and high-speed rail abroad, such as Simson ISR70-03, 70-08 of BOSTIK Company, SIKA Company's SIKAFLEX 221FC, etc. There is no similar product on the domestic market.

The latter two are quite different from the first three. They are basically closer to polyurethane, or polyurethane.
